A suspected drunk driver has been arrested for allegedly crashing into a bus in Al Saya, killing a man and injuring eight people.
According to the Public Prosecution, the defendant got behind the wheel while intoxicated and was distracted, leading his vehicle to collide with the back of a bus transporting the victims.
As a result of the collision, the bus reportedly veered off course, hitting metal railings and cement barriers on the side of the road.
The defendant was arrested, and investigations have nearly been completed in preparation for a criminal trial. The prosecution stated that the victim’s body was handed over to his family.
