MOTORSPORT – A third delegation of Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) officials visited Sepang International Circuit (SIC) in Malaysia as part of ongoing preparations for the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026, scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4.
The visit, which coincided with SIC hosting the fourth round of the Malaysia Touring Car Championship 2026, forms part of the BMF’s work ahead of the grand prix weekend, in coordination and cooperation with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
The visit was part of an ongoing programme of field inspections by the BMF to review the procedures, preparations, and organisational operations at SIC and benefit from its experience and capabilities in hosting and organising motorsport events.
The delegation was briefed on event management and organisation, coordination between various teams, and the operational, technical, and logistical aspects of staging races.
The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences with officials and staff at SIC and review best practices in race management and organisation, enhancing the team’s readiness.
The efforts are in line with the directives of BMF president and FIA vice-president for sport for Mena Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa. They reflect his commitment to enhancing cooperation with motorsport organisations and providing the necessary conditions for the success of the upcoming F1 race.
This year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia is expected to represent an important stage in cooperation and the exchange of expertise in motorsport between the two nations. It also demonstrates the ability of Bahraini professionals to contribute to the organisation and management of major international motor races, both in Bahrain and abroad.
