The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has developed its service for requesting the addition of a storage location.
The digital service enables establishments to register storage locations for chemicals and refrigerant gases, as well as refrigeration and air-conditioning units. This is a mandatory requirement before registering any product for import, helping ensure compliance with approved safety and environmental requirements for storage.
Under the enhanced service, processing time has been cut from 20 working days to just seven days by reducing the required documents and data, automating the submission and review procedures, streamlining the application process, and providing the service fully online. It also facilitates access to data, and enhances the efficiency of inspection and monitoring operations.
SCE chief executive officer Amna Al Rumaihi said the service forms part of the council’s adoption of innovative digital solutions to enhance the efficiency of government procedures supporting investment, raise compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and facilitate the business environment.
“The service’s development reflects the SCE’s commitment to enhancing its services, reducing the time and effort required by institutions and investors, and supporting the effectiveness of the overall work system” she added.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, with 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
This work has been based on suggestions and feedback submitted through the National Suggestions and Complaints System ‘Tawasul’, investors’ feedback, and mystery shopper reports assessing government services, in addition to the launch of user guides and service-level agreements.
