Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohammed Bin Daina took part in the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Forum 2026 at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre in Tatarstan.
During a panel discussion, Dr Bin Daina emphasised the importance of international forums in exchanging expertise and discussing developments and future trends in the energy sector.
He said oil and gas remain central to global energy security and economic growth, stressing the importance of investment in operational efficiency, national capabilities and advanced technologies. He also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and data analytics in improving resource efficiency and supporting a more resilient and sustainable energy sector.
On the sidelines of the forum, Dr Bin Daina attended the Kazan Oil, Gas and Chemistry exhibition and reviewed developments in oil, gas, refining and petrochemicals.
Dr Bin Daina also met Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of Tatarstan. They discussed co-operation between Bahrain and Tatarstan, particularly in the energy sector, as well as current developments and future trends in the sector.
