Kuwait has foiled the largest Lyrica operation in its history, seizing five tonnes of raw powder and nearly four million ready-to-sell capsules with a street value of approximately KD150 million.
The raid uncovered a fully equipped factory used to manufacture Lyrica, a brand name for the prescription drug pregabalin, alongside commercial filling and packaging machinery, Interior Minister Shaikh Fahad Al Yousef Al Sabah announced on Wednesday.
Authorities arrested five suspects in connection with the bust, comprising three Kuwaitis and two Arab nationals.
