Children battling illness were given moments of joy and hope as the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in co-operation with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the UAE, continued to fulfil their wishes throughout August.
This came as part of a humanitarian partnership between the two organisations, aimed at giving the children psychological and emotional support throughout their treatment journeys.
The wishes reflected the children’s individual interests and preferences and included a range of electronic devices, accessories and toys.
Gifts included Apple products, personal computers, PlayStation consoles and accessories, iPads and other items requested by the children.
The children are living with various health conditions, including rare metabolic disorders associated with liver transplantation, oesophageal narrowing and related gastrointestinal complications, coeliac disease, end-stage renal failure, and an immunodeficiency syndrome resulting from a genetic mutation.
“Through this initiative, the foundation is committed to ensuring that the care provided to children extends beyond their medical needs to encompass their psychological and emotional well-being,” the RHF said in a statement.
“By fulfilling their wishes and creating meaningful experiences, we seek to foster feelings of happiness, hope and positivity among them.”
