Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) recently staged its Junior First Aider Programme, equipping young minds with important skills in case of emergencies.
The session was held at the society’s headquarters in Manama under the supervision of the first aid committee and brought together participants aged nine to 15.
The initiative comes as part of the society’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of safety and first aid among younger generations.
The three-day workshop combined essential knowledge with hands-on training. On the first day, the children were introduced to the core principles of first aid where they practised a range of skills.
The second day focused on managing bleeding and fractures, in addition to reviewing and applying cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques. These exercises gave participants practical experience in procedures that require a prompt, accurate and composed response.
Additionally, two talents from the Islamic Society’s activities department were commended for producing an educational video on first aid.
On the final day, participants learned about the causes of fires, preventive measures and the correct response to fire-related emergencies, as well as proper use of fire extinguishers and safe building evacuation procedures.
During the closing ceremony, the children met BRCS secretary-general Mubarak Al Hadi, who commended their enthusiasm and presented them with certificates.
