Teaching and administrative staff yesterday returned to government schools across the kingdom ahead of the new academic year (2026-2027).
The return comes ahead of an orientation day for parents and students to be held today from 7.30am to 4pm and tomorrow from 7.30am to 3.30pm.
Parents will meet teachers and other staff members who will discuss the new academic year, give students their IDs and distribute textbooks to those who have not received them yet. Students, meanwhile, will return to schools tomorrow with the academic year running until June 30, 2027.
The first term will run until January 14, 2027. First-term examinations will be held from December 21 to January 12. Mid-term holidays will run from January 17 to 28.
The second term will then begin on January 31 and continue until June 30, with final examinations scheduled from May 3 to 27.
Summer holidays next year will start on July 1 and run until September 2.
