National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the closing ceremony of the ‘Gadeha Junior’ training camp, which was held at Exhibition World Bahrain, in the presence of Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard’s Special Operations, and a number of distinguished guests and invitees.
Lt-Gen Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the ‘Gadeha Junior’ camp is a national project aimed at investing in the country’s youth, developing their character, honing their skills and preparing them to be better equipped to shoulder responsibility and face challenges.
He noted that investing in and empowering young people will remain a top priority, as they are a cornerstone of the kingdom’s progress and future.
He added: “We take pride in what the participants achieved during the camp, and in the dedication, commitment and high spirits they demonstrated, which reflect the authentic values that characterise Bahraini youth. Through this project, we wanted military life – with its discipline, commitment and sense of responsibility – to serve as a means of shaping the participants’ character and instilling in them the values of leadership, teamwork and self-confidence.”
Lt-Gen Shaikh Nasser also noted: “The outstanding examples we see today confirm that investing in the younger generation is a genuine investment in Bahrain’s future. We look forward to the participants carrying what they have learnt at the camp into their daily lives, serving as role models in their schools and communities, and always placing service to the country and its advancement at the forefront of their goals.”
He praised the efforts made in organising the camp, commending the role of the organisers, trainers and supervisors, as well as the sponsors and supporters who contributed to the project’s success and the achievement of its objectives.
The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
Afterwards, a special film was screened offering a behind-the-scenes look at the camp, showcasing aspects of the participants’ journey, as well as the training, experiences and situations they encountered. The ceremony also featured an interactive military display.
Sponsors were also honoured during the ceremony, in recognition of their support and contribution to the success of the ‘Gadeha Junior’ camp.
Lt-Gen Shaikh Nasser honoured 20 outstanding participants in recognition of their performance and discipline throughout the various stages of the camp.
The winners of the Gadeha Cup for Excellence were also honoured.
