The Onam celebrations at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) witnessed two truly remarkable programmes — a Veena concert by Neelgreev and Charadu Pinnikkali by the BKS Ladies Wing. Both programmes were exceptional in their own unique ways and deserve special appreciation.
At just 14 years of age, Neelgreev is undoubtedly a rising star. His performance was extraordinary and reflected remarkable talent, dedication, concentration and maturity far beyond his age. The way he handled the instrument, maintained the rhythm and brought out the beauty and emotion of the music was truly captivating.
It was not merely a musical performance; it was a beautiful demonstration of how young talent can preserve and carry forward our rich musical heritage. Neelgreev deserves our wholehearted appreciation and encouragement. I am sure we will hear much more from this young talent in the years to come.
Charadu Pinnikkali was another outstanding presentation. It is a traditional art form that has become very rare today and is closely associated with Kerala’s cultural heritage. Seeing this beautiful art form brought back to the stage with the participation of more than 100 artists was truly special.
The recreation and presentation of this traditional performance by Vishnu Nadakagramam deserves particular appreciation. It was wonderful to see our traditions being preserved, recreated and presented to a new generation in such a grand manner.
Special congratulations to Mohini Thomas and Nimmi Roshan for their tremendous effort, dedication and commitment in bringing these programmes to the stage.
At the same time, the successful execution of such large-scale programmes is never the work of one or two individuals. The BKS executive committee, under the leadership of president P V Radhakrishnapillai and general secretary Varghese Karakkal, together with general convener Harikrishnan B Nair and the entire team, played a major role in making these programmes a grand success.
My sincere appreciation and congratulations to everyone involved – the performers, co-ordinators, volunteers, artists and the entire BKS team.
The programmes were a beautiful reminder that Onam is a celebration of our culture, traditions, music and collective spirit.
Congratulations to everyone who made this memorable evening possible. May BKS continue to provide a platform for both young talents like Neelgreev and the preservation of our precious traditional art forms.
