Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, presented Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, with the accreditation certificate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning under the Healthy Workplaces Programme, after the ministry fulfilled the programme’s requirements and the approved assessment criteria for the Diamond level.
Dr Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan congratulated the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning on receiving the accreditation, commending its attention to the health and safety of employees and its efforts to provide a workplace that supports the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
She affirmed that the Healthy Workplaces Programme is part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to raise health awareness and promote preventive practices across different workplaces by implementing a range of standards and awareness and guidance programmes covering healthy nutrition, physical activity, smoking control, mental health and occupational health, contributing to improving employees’ health and quality of life.
For her part, Minister Al Rumaihi affirmed that the ministry’s accreditation reflects its continued commitment to providing a healthy, safe and motivating workplace and enhancing the quality of working life, noting that human resources are a key pillar of institutional development and efforts to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
She noted that the ministry is keen to adopt initiatives and programmes that contribute to raising employees’ health awareness and encourage them to follow healthy lifestyles, while promoting practices that support mental and occupational health. She said that this contributes positively to employees’ well-being and ability to contribute, while enhancing performance and productivity.
Minister Al Rumaihi explained that fulfilling the accreditation requirements was the result of the integrated efforts of the ministry’s work teams and employees’ engagement with the awareness and health programmes and activities implemented. She affirmed that the ministry would continue building on this achievement by developing targeted initiatives and expanding participation in them, ensuring the sustainability of health.
