The Bahrain Chamber (BCCI) has approved the appointment of its new sectoral committee chairs for the 31st administrative term, tapping key industry leaders to drive private sector engagement and sharpen the kingdom’s economic edge.
Chaired by Nabeel Kanoo, the board of directors finalised the appointments as part of a broader push to complete the chamber’s operational structure, providing specialised platforms to address sector-specific challenges, advise policymakers, and bolster national competitiveness.
The appointments include Deema Al Haddad as chair of the Commercial Markets Committee; Ali Abdulhussain Maki as Chair of the Traditional Markets Committee; Dr Ahmed Alkoofi as chair of the Education and Training Committee; Dr Abdulla Al Hamed as chair of the Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Committee; Mohamed Alaali as chair of the Industry and Sustainable Energy Committee; Hussain Al Samahiji as chair of the Hospitality, Tourism and Promotion Committee; and Uzair Usman as chair of the Real Estate and Construction Committee.
The appointments also include Dr Lamya Mahmood as chair of the Health Sector Committee; Khalid AlAmin as chair of the Food Sector Committee; Ammar Alfardan as chair of the Pearls, Gold and Jewellery Committee; Nader Rahimi as Chair of the Finance, Insurance and Tax Committee; and Mohamed Almusallam as chair of the Transport and Logistics Services Committee.

Congratulating the newly appointed chairs, Mr Kanoo wished them success over their four-year tenure and expressed full confidence in their ability to support the board of directors in serving the business community as a pivotal partner in Bahrain’s economic development.
He emphasised that the appointments followed a comprehensive review of committee structures, mandates, and selection criteria to ensure robust representation across all key economic drivers.
“The sectoral committees represent a vital pillar in shaping the chamber’s policies and initiatives,” Mr Kanoo said. “Beyond addressing obstacles, they play a crucial role in anticipating emerging economic trends, fostering innovation, and proposing practical initiatives that drive sector growth and sustainability.”
He added that the establishment of dedicated committees for Pearls, Gold and Jewellery as well as Old Markets reflects the chamber’s commitment to supporting both high-potential future sectors and those deeply tied to the kingdom’s rich commercial and cultural heritage.
Mr Kanoo affirmed that the board of directors will work closely with committee leadership to monitor outputs, measure real-world impact, and translate recommendations into actionable strategies with relevant authorities.
