BADMINTON – SHAYAN and Akhil won the advanced division in badminton in the Filipino Badminton League (FBL) Bahrain’s ‘September to Remember Sportsfest’ at Busaiteen Club.
The multi-sport showcase featured competition in badminton, pickleball, volleyball, Mobile Legends and ‘Funminton’.
The event was honoured by the presence of Philippine Ambassador Gines Jaime Ricardo D Gallaga and key dignitaries from the Philippine Embassy.
Lester and Kariz won the intermediate-plus division, Jerome and Carms won the intermediate-minus, and Yasmeen and Melek took the beginners’ tier.
In pickleball, Lorenze and Kyla dominated the intermediate division, Joman and Harsh won the beginners-plus, and Lester and Shahid swept the beginners-minus.
Team Dencio reigned supreme in the volleyball competition, while Rahul was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Team Liquid won the Mobile Legends competition. They were composed of CJ, Joan, Lester, Mia, and Lorenze.
In ‘Funminton’, Team Joman took home the championship with their line-up that included Joman, Kenneth, Rahul, Dolly, Harsh, Kyla, Aiza, Johann, Sharmaine, and Dr Kristin.
During the event, FBL president Christian Martizano announced his retirement after six years in his position.
