Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa honoured outstanding individuals, institutions and projects in civil service, labour, development and social affairs across GCC countries during a ceremony held in Bahrain.
The ceremony was attended by Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sherida Abdullah Saad Al Maousherji, heads of GCC delegations participating in the 22nd meeting of the Committee of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Agencies of the GCC, the 12th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Labour and the 12th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development, as well GCC Secretary-General as Jasem Al Budaiwi.
Bahrain is hosting the meetings as part of its presidency of the GCC’s 46th session.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that Bahrain’s belief that people are both the ultimate goal and the main driving force of development is reflected in the attention accorded to civil service, labour and social development.
He said these interconnected sectors work together to develop and empower individuals in line with the objectives of the kingdom’s comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad and guided by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister said this approach underpins Bahrain’s commitment to supporting initiatives and projects that advance joint GCC action and enhance integration and co-ordination, in line with the aspirations of leaders of the GCC countries and the ambitions of the region’s citizens for a more prosperous future.
Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in participating in the GCC gathering, which celebrates individuals whose achievements have made a tangible difference in their communities.
He said the recognition conveys appreciation to those who have contributed through their dedication and hard work, while encouraging continued innovation and leadership.
He congratulated the honoured individuals and institutions, and wished them continued success in serving their countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister also commended the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat, ministerial committees and executive teams in coordinating activities, following up on initiatives and aligning perspectives to advance joint GCC action.
During the ceremony, Civil Service Bureau (CSB) president Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa delivered the host country’s address.
He thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the ceremony, noting that his presence reflected Bahrain’s commitment to supporting GCC cooperation, developing human resources and improving government and social service systems.
Shaikh Daij said recognising outstanding professionals and projects encourages continued dedication and creativity while promoting a culture of excellence and the exchange of successful experiences among GCC countries.
The GCC Secretary-General said the achievements of the honourees represented distinguished GCC examples that had contributed to improving public and private sector working environments and strengthening social and development initiatives.
He noted that joint GCC action continues to achieve progress through co-operation and co-ordinated efforts among member states.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Oil Under-Secretary Dr Shaikh Nimer Fahad Al Malek Al Sabah delivered an address on behalf of the honourees.
He commended the attention given by GCC leaders to supporting national talent and recognising achievements and initiatives that contribute to development and joint GCC action.
