His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met the heads of the GCC delegations taking part in the 22nd meeting of the Committee of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Agencies of the GCC, the meeting of the GCC Ministers of Labour, and the meeting of the Committee of GCC Ministers of Social Affairs and Development, as well as GCC secretary general Jasem Al Budaiwi, at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, remains committed to supporting efforts that strengthen GCC co-operation and benefit member states, fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples.
He noted that the continued development of GCC co-operation and the achievements made across various sectors reflect the strength of the ties among member states.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the importance of building on these achievements to create new opportunities for cooperation and coordination, translating the visions and aspirations of the leaders of the GCC states into further development and prosperity.
During the meeting, the heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of the leaders of the GCC states to His Majesty and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
In turn, HRH Prince Salman conveyed the greetings of His Majesty and his own greetings to the leaders of the GCC states.
He highlighted the role of these meetings in advancing GCC partnerships and developing joint initiatives and programmes that advance the progress and prosperity of the GCC states and their peoples.
He emphasised the importance of continuing to develop GCC co-operation in the fields of labour, social development, and civil service, building on previous achievements to enhance the efficiency of work systems and support shared development priorities and objectives.
He also stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and best practices among the GCC states, particularly in the fields of labour, social development, and the civil service, to develop more effective programmes and initiatives that achieve their intended objectives.
He affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to continuing its efforts to develop its labour market, the civil service, and social development systems, creating further opportunities for the citizens of the GCC states and supporting sustainable development across the GCC.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and a number of senior officials also attended the meeting.
Bahrain hosted the GCC meetings as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, the ‘Bahrain Summit’.
