Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, said the ministry is coordinating with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) to develop sustainable mobility solutions that improve access to cultural and heritage sites across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The coordination includes assessing options for connecting cultural destinations to the public transport network, developing sustainable cultural routes, and coordinating transport services during cultural seasons and events to improve accessibility for citizens, residents, and visitors.
The minister highlighted the importance of cooperation between government entities in supporting national development priorities and promoting cultural and heritage destinations as an integral part of national identity.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of BACA, said the coordination would support cultural and transport planning and improve access to cultural sites and events.
He added that both entities would continue coordinating to identify joint projects and initiatives combining cultural destination management with transport solutions to improve visitor experiences while preserving the historical and architectural character of heritage sites.
