Bahrain strongly condemned the persistent, criminal attacks launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against civilian, economic and vital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, involving ballistic missiles and drones directed at Riyadh, Dhahran, Khamis Mushait and other regions.
The Foreign Ministry denounced the escalation as a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to civilian lives and regional stability.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s total solidarity with Saudi Arabia, expressing its unwavering support for all measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security and residents. It underscored Saudi Arabia’s inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, reiterating that Saudi security is integral to Bahrain and the wider GCC.
Furthermore, the ministry commended the high readiness and efficiency of the Saudi Armed Forces in intercepting and thwarting these terrorist attacks, extending wishes for a swift recovery to those injured by falling shrapnel from intercepted missiles.
The ministry renewed Bahrain’s call on the UN Security Council to take decisive action to halt ongoing Houthi attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
