Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Manama to take part tomorrow in the ninth round of the strategic dialogue between Russia and the GCC, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced at a Press conference yesterday.
Zakharova said that the previous round of the dialogue, held at foreign minister level, took place in Sochi in September 2025.
“The central event of the upcoming meeting will be the plenary session, during which views will be exchanged on a wide range of international and regional issues, including the situation in the Gulf region,” she said.
She added that the meeting would examine in detail prospects for strengthening mutually beneficial co-operation between Russia and GCC member states, including in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
Zakharova also noted that Lavrov would hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the gathering in Manama.
