A mother in the UAE was fined AED1,000 (BD100) for hitting her son on the head with a microphone.
The 33-year-old Gulf national was convicted of assault after intervening in a dispute between the boy and his sister.
The boy was also later bitten by a dog owned by the mother.
The incident came to light after the boy’s father reported the alleged assault to police and lodged a complaint.
During court proceedings, the mother denied the charge. However, the boy’s statements, along with a medical report, supported the allegation.
The court eventually fined her AED1,000, showing leniency in view of her relationship with the victim.
