Around 150 workers attempted to march from Sitra to Zayed Town this morning in protest over unpaid wages.
Some claimed they resigned a year ago from G P Zachariades (GPZ) but have yet to receive their pending salaries.
However, their march to the Labour and Social Development Ministry complex in Zayed Town was stopped by police officers as they maintained road safety.
Some of the Indian and Bangladeshi workers are awaiting repatriation and their settlements for years of service.
