Americans and Bahrainis have been working together for more than 100 years to achieve security and prosperity in the Gulf region, and “I was lucky to be given the opportunity to part of this legacy”, said outgoing US Ambassador Justin Siberell.
In a farewell message marking the end of his diplomatic tenure in Bahrain, he expressed deepest thanks to His Majesty King Hamad for his wise leadership and role in binding the two countries.
“His Majesty and President Donald Trump have shown a firm belief in the importance of strong and lasting relations between the two countries,” he said.
He also thanked His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for their constant support and hospitality for American citizens in Bahrain. He commended the care they have extended to all Americans residing in Bahrain during the coronavirus crisis.
“Co-operation has brought about prosperity in various fields including oil and banking sectors. Bahrain-US commercial co-operation has achieved economic growth and created new job opportunities and hope for future generations,” Ambassador Siberell added.
As my family & I conclude our diplomatic assignment to #Bahrain, we would like to thank you for the wonderful hospitality we received.
