Kuwait City: Kuwait has announced a ban on using words or phrases that affect the dignity of expatriate workers, domestic workers, and those of similar status from advertisement usage.
The Commerce Ministry indicated that the phrases ‘to sell’, ‘to buy’ and 'to assign’ should be replaced with the phrase ‘transfer of services’, while the words servant or maid should also be replaced with the word workers.
It also stressed that advertisements should not include personal photos, identity cards or contain other personal information of workers.
