MANAMA: Roads are set to be revitalised in two blocks in Riffa, the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry announced yesterday.
The work, set to take place in blocks 915 and 916, will include asphalt and civil work to improve road connectivity, construction of a rainwater drainage network to resolve annual flooding concerns, building of sidewalks and construction of ground channels.
The ministry is now accepting bids for the work, and has a projected timeline of five months from the start date.
The area’s municipal councillor Khaled Janahi noted that the project is of great importance to residents and citizens of the area and that the rainwater drainage network, in particular, will resolve significant problems within the area.
