MANAMA: The first four Bahrainis to complete HSBC’s 18-month graduate training scheme have been appointed to permanent roles at the bank during May and June this year.
“One of the four pillars of HSBC’s global strategy is to energise for growth, which means investing to attract, develop and retain the talented individuals who will lead our business into the future by nurturing a dynamic and diverse culture for people who want to make a positive impact for the customers and communities we serve. Our new colleagues help to make that ambition a reality,” said HSBC Bank Bahrain chief executive Chris Russell.
The graduate training programme, which supports the goals of talent development in the finance sector under Vision 2030, is an extensive on-the-job training plan providing workplace experience across the bank’s operations.
“This was the first group of graduates to join the bank in Bahrain as part of this programme and we are very pleased with the outcome,” said Mr Russell. “We hope to have a similar programme for aspiring young bankers in the future.”
Post successful completion of the programme, the graduates have been allocated their respective departments. Rawan Ali Almansoor has joined the commercial banking team and Razan Ali Almansoor the global banking team. Orfan Ahmed Sabkar joined global trade and receivables finance, while Maha Ahmed is in the compliance team.
“At HSBC, we want our colleagues to feel inspired, to own their development and continue to gain skills and experiences in different and fulfilling ways, and our programme is designed to help graduates do exactly that,” Mr Russell added.
