THIRTY cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection were recorded from four Bahraini households last week, revealed the Health Ministry’s weekly contact tracing highlights.
A symptomatic 47-year-old female citizen revealed a cluster of 14 positive cases across two different households.
The cases were family-related and included the index case’s husband, children, sister-in-law and her children.
Another symptomatic 53-year-old female citizen infected eight family members in the same household, including her children, grandsons and domestic help.
Two symptomatic male citizens revealed eight positive cases from the same household, including their parents and siblings.
The week from October 28 to November 3 saw a total of 271 cases including 160 Bahrainis and 111 expatriates.
There were 237 local infections while the remaining 34 were travel-related cases.
Eighty-eight people were infected through close contact, while 54 tested positive after developing symptoms.
Forty tested positive during random community screening and 55 after quarantine.
The weekly average of daily new cases dropped to 39 from 50 the week prior.
