Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) has donated BD500 to Think Pink: Bahrain Breast Cancer Society, marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Think Pink Bahrain representative Fatima Husain received the cheque and expressed her gratitude, highlighting the role of such community-driven initiatives in spreading awareness and supporting cancer patients across the kingdom.
The funds were raised during the school’s Think Pink Week, a week-long campaign advocating the message of ‘Hope, Health and Heart’.
The young philanthropists organised events like the Commerce Bazaar and Open House and showcased their talents by selling cupcakes, diyas (lamps) and hand-crafted Diwali cards.
Additionally, students engaged in interactive sessions, creative displays and wellness talks, embracing early detection awareness and preventive health practices.
BIS principal Saji Jacob expressed his appreciation to the students, staff and parents for their collective spirit and contribution. He remarked that such initiatives reflect the school’s belief in nurturing empathy and social responsibility alongside academic excellence.
BIS directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma commended the efforts, noting that small acts of kindness and awareness go a long way in shaping compassionate and socially conscious individuals.
