The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain’s cornerstone Italian fine-dining restaurant Primavera, has reopened to much fanfare, with a new head chef at the helm.
Chef Heros de Agostinis prepared a curated menu for dignitaries including Italian Ambassador Paola Amadei and French Ambassador Jérôme Cauchard, media members and social media influencers at the relaunch of the revamped outlet last week.
Chef Heros’ menu included crispy pasta, an autumn-themed risotto, traditional homemade gnocci, Black Angus fillet and tiramisu.
The signature restaurant will showcase a new Osteria Contemporanea concept, as he also takes the helm of executive sous chef at the hotel.
“Italy has many different regions and each has its own distinct flavours and style of preparation and at Primavera, it is my ultimate goal to let diners gain great appreciation of this unique, diverse and authentic cuisine, promising a refined culinary experience to remember,” added the chef, who has more than 20 years of experience in multi-Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels around the world.
Chef Heros also led a cooking lesson at the event, alongside director of culinary and food and beverage Yann Lejard, during which aspiring chefs learned the secrets to making the perfect Italian pesto.
Primavera also has a revitalised décor which evokes ‘an evergreen garden of freshness and simplicity making it the perfect setting for the irresistibly delicious food’, its designers say.
“The walls lend a touch of drama to the innate simplicity of the space with a silver embossed print of Boticelli’s Primavera painting. Allusions to the iconic painting – featuring a beautiful Venus surrounded by eight divine figures – can be seen throughout the restaurant from gold carvings of the spring constellation through to the moss in the private dining room that is evocative of the green gardens of the painting.
Complemented by a terrace overlooking the beautiful resort and Arabian Gulf, Primavera will provide a natural backdrop for Chef Heros to demonstrate his creative approach to Italian cuisine,” the hotel’s management added.
