HIS Majesty King Hamad has paid tribute to Bahrain’s diplomats for successfully promoting the nation’s core values of peace and coexistence around the world.
He also voiced pride in their success in consolidating Bahrain’s relations with other countries.
These relations are based on firm values that have shaped the kingdom’s civilisational identity as a country that embraces tolerance, coexistence and respect for the other, calls for peace and harmony among the peoples of the world, and adheres to international charters and laws, His Majesty said yesterday in a statement marking Diplomatic Day.
The day is marked every January 14 in recognition of the dedication of the kingdom’s diplomats in implementing its foreign policy.
“For more than 50 years, Bahraini diplomacy has reflected the foreign policy of Bahrain. While it is based on moderation and balance, it also seeks to build relations and exchange interests with various countries, contribute to supporting the efforts of the international community to enhance peace and security, address urgent issues and challenges, and achieve goodness and a decent life for all mankind,” the King said.
“This has had a great impact on the high position attained by Bahrain at the global level, and the good reputation it gained as a peaceful country that believes in its principles and values, strongly active in the international community, and as good and authentic people who wish security and peace for all.”
His Majesty pointed out Bahraini diplomacy’s achievements stand witness to the loyalty and dedication of its citizens in serving their country.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani congratulated His Majesty as well as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, marking the day.
