RENOWNED Indian ghazal and bhajan singer Anup Jalota performed last night to a packed audience at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), Segaiya as a 12-day musical festival kicked off.
The BKS Indo-Bahrain Dance and Music Festival has been organised under the patronage of the Indian Embassy with support from the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca).
Thousands are expected to attend the festival that will run until May 14, and feature performances by different Indian artists. The festival is curated by one of India’s foremost art directors, Soorya Krishnamoorthy.
Earlier in the day, BKS general secretary Varghese Karakkal and other officials received Mr Jalota, Mr Krishnamoorthy and film star and dancer Asha Sharath.
