A YOUNG school student has donated part of her chopped locks to the Bahrain Cancer Society.
Eldha Ebi, a Grade 10 student of the Indian School Bahrain, donated 45cm of her hair to be used to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair during treatment for the disease.
The 15-year-old, who spent two years growing her hair, said human hair was expensive and not available on demand.
“My small act of kindness can give self-confidence, strength and hope to someone struggling with emotional challenges of hair loss and who suffer physically and mentally,” she said.
“I thank God for giving me this chance to support the needy and consider it as a gift of gratitude towards life.”
Eldha is the daughter of Indian expatriates Ebimon Yohannan, who works for a private company in Bahrain, and Jeena Ebimon.
Her brother Edwin is a Grade 11 student at the same school.
