ONAM celebrations continued at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) with a performance of a traditional Keralite dance form, Thiruvathirakali, in which 102 dancers participated.
This was followed by a musical extravaganza by Aaravam, a Bahrain-based Keralite folk song group.
“I would really like to appreciate the event co-ordinator Jaya Ravikumar and the whole team whose dedicated efforts for the past one-and-a-half months made this performance spectacular,” said BKS president PV Radhakrishna Pillai.
He also thanked teachers Shubha Ajith and Remya Binoj who trained the dancers for the event.
The two-month-long celebrations, Shravanam 2022, which kicked off last month, marks two major Indian festivals – Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, and the nine-day Navratri which celebrates Hindu goddess Durga.
