Bahrainis living abroad will start casting their ballots for the parliamentary elections on Tuesday.
They will be able to vote at Bahrain’s embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions from 8am until 8pm local time.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister and chairman of the High Committee to Oversee the Integrity of Elections Nawaf Al Maawda had previously announced that re-elections, if needed, would take place on November 15.
Bahrain’s Embassy in the UK yesterday said voters should bring their passport and national identity card for casting ballots at the facility in 30 Belgrave Square London, SW1X 8QB.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a QR code on its social media account, which, when scanned, will guide voters to the polling area at the Diplomatic Quarter 94371 Riyadh 11693.
Those hoping to cast their votes at Bahrain’s Embassy in Egypt will need to go to Ahmed Mazhr 8 Street, Zamalek Cairo. Voters will have to bring their passport or other official documents that reveal their electoral district.
After the votes are counted, a report will be created which will include the total number of votes cast, the number of legitimate and invalid votes and the votes each candidate received in each electoral district.
The ballots will be placed in an airtight envelope, along with the data of everyone who cast a vote. The report must be signed by the committee’s chairman and secretary. The envelope and a copy of its content will then be sent to the high committee by e-mail or fax.
Anyone who did not vote at the embassy, consulate or diplomatic mission has the right to vote before the relevant committee in his electoral district if they are in Bahrain on the day of the election.
