A 57-year-old Omani woman was found dead after 56 days of her disappearance, the Royal Oman Police reported.
"The missing citizen, Hamida bint Hammoud Al Amri, was found dead by a citizen. The procedures are underway to hand over the body to her family," ROP said in a statement.
Al Amri had been reported missing since October 3, when she is last seen returning from a Quran School in the town of Izki in Al Dakhaliyah Governorate.
Local volunteer teams had joined government authorities in carrying out the search for the woman, covering every part of the town and its suburbs.
The Royal Oman Police extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and thanked the volunteer teams and citizens for their help in the search operations.
