A YOUNG woman who attacked police officers after being accused of being on the game has been jailed for four years.
The 25-year-old Moroccan was found guilty of prostitution and assault by the High Criminal Court yesterday.
She was arrested last month in connection with having sex with men for money before being taken to a police station in Manama. She punched, pushed and pulled the hair of policewomen while in custody, after they confronted her and told her to accompany them to a hospital. She also exposed her chest and attempted to flee on foot, before being handcuffed at the station, according to court documents.
“The woman was found guilty of the charges due to sufficient evidence against her,” read the court ruling.
“She denied the charges in an attempt to evade punishment. However, she attacked policewomen who confronted her.”
A detective previously alleged that the defendant was dressed in a sexually provocative manner in a bid to seduce men into having sex with her.
The woman will be deported after completing her sentence.
