A FAMILY has been provided temporary accommodation after their home in Jurdab went up in flames.
No injuries were reported in the incident on Sunday.
MP Zainab Abdulameer, who visited the site, told the GDN yesterday that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
She was accompanied by Capital Trustees Board member Huda Sultan and members of the Social Development Ministry as well as representatives from the Jurdab Charity Society.
A video posted on Ms Abdulameer’s Instagram account showed the charred walls and destroyed belongings.
She said that the family was moved to a temporary residence while the home is repaired.
The Interior Ministry said on Twitter that the Civil Defence had rescued three individuals and extinguished a fire in Jurdab, on the day of the incident.
“The National Ambulance transferred a woman to hospital for smoke inhalation. An investigation has been launched.”
