An Asian maid has been sentenced to one month in prison, followed by deportation, for assaulting an infant.
The victim, a one-year-old Gulf national was hit on the head several times, the child's father found through surveillance cameras.
The accused denied the charges, saving she was merely caressing the child's head to get her to fall asleep.
She also said that she did not want to cause the girl any harm.
Dubai Public Prosecution charged her under under Federal Law No. 3 of 2016, after reviewing the evidence and hearing the feather's testimony.
