PEOPLE continue to flock to the Budaiya Botanical Garden every Saturday to snap up an array of fresh produce at the Farmers’ Market as well as enjoy the greenery and community-like atmosphere.
Now, in its 10th edition, the popular market organised by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, in collaboration with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, is showcasing fruits, vegetables and other goods from 31 farmers, four agricultural companies, five plant nurseries, four apiaries, four companies specialised in dates and 20 productive families.
There is also a dedicated children’s corner, featuring live art and a bouncy castle.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s children’s mascot named Saeed (which is Arabic for happy) is keeping younger members of the family entertained while folks shop for produce.
The market is open from 7am to 1pm and runs until February 28. Entry is free for all.
