BAHRAINI Talal Al Sayed will take on Canadian rival Lucas Loughlin for the Boys U-12 singles title in the 10th Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Open Juniors Tennis Championship being played at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) courts in Juffair.
In yesterday’s semi-finals, the Public Security Officers Club’s Talal defeated Ahmed Mortada 6-0, 6-1 and Lucas beat Abdulla Al Dosari, of Bahrain, by the same scoreline.
The Girls U-12 singles final will be contested by Bahraini Layal Basil against her Filipino rival Elena Seifra.
Layal qualified for the final by defeating Filipino player Annabelle Thobel 6-0, 6-3, while Elena beat South Korean Mina Sebaqai 3-6, 6-4, 17-15 in one of the longest matches of this competition.
In the Boys U-18 singles, Faris Al Tubli qualified for the final defeating Shad J Qallal 6-2, 7-6 (3), and Filipino Andre Seifra beat Bahraini Hassan Mirza 6-2, 6-4 in the other semi-final.
In Boys U-14, Bahraini Ahmed Al Sayed beat Indian Ryon Jay 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-final to set up a showdown with Indian Rayan Ahmed, who qualified for the final defeating Faisal Masih 6-3, 6-4.
The tournament ends on Wednesday.
