THE Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa Dressage Championship, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) under the patronage of Al Fursan team captain Shaikha Noora at the Military Sports Federation arena, Al Raffah, featured strong competition across all categories as the participants showcased great displays and exhibited their abilities to reign their horses.
There were 75 competitors in the championship to book a spot in the finals which will be held in March.
In the preliminary senior section, Oliver Walter, riding Alfi Moon, came first with a total of 72.86 per cent, Martine Smith (69.29pc) was second on the Judio, while Keshia Graham (68.57pc) finished third on the Jairo.
Camilia Lecat won the preliminary junior section after scoring 66.96pc on Solo, Marine Roger (66.43pc) came second on Fly, and Titouan Roger (66.07pc) finished third, also on Fly.
In the intro senior category, Abdullah Al Sakran triumphed on Happy Cool after picking 70.71pc, Lidia Romanova (68.57pc) finished second on Gauhar-Sha, while Carlijn Leeflang (67.86pc) was third on Jairo.
Muneera Alabbasi got 65.24pc on As D’or Del Sol to finish first in the juniors’ class, followed by Albane Lecat (63.81pc) on Solo and Can Topbas (63.57pc) on Oreo respectively.
In the amateurs section, Walter earned 67.07pc to win first place while riding PS Piran, and he also came second on Alfie Moon scoring 66.72pc. Third place went to Yelda Topbass who received 66.55pc on Maestro.
Finally, Megan Black was the winner of the elementary section after scoring 75.76pc on Jaranero. The second and third places went to Reza Al Afoo (73.48pc) on Mano Kinsky and Mohammed Alamiri (69.55pc) on Puma, respectively.
Breef secretary Ghaleb Al Alawi and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre director Tawfiq Al Salehi presented the prizes to the winners.
