Jazeel, owned by Ahmed Al Isa, claimed the Shaikh Faisal Bin Rashid Bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup after winning the eighth race at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) yesterday.
The winner, trained by Hesham Al Haddad and ridden by Stephane Ladjadj, finished ahead of second-placed Ecosystem of MKAR Racing in the 1,600 metres race for imported horses. Chimgan of Al Mohamediya Racing was third.
Earlier, Mobaadel, of Al Mohamediya Racing, bagged the Horse Welfare Authority Cup after winning seventh race of the day. In second place was Rebel At Dawn of Al Adiyat Racing while Dark Shadow of Al Mohamediya Racing finished third.
Mudallal of Al Mohamediya Racing clinched the Shaikh Isa Bin Faisal Bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup for the winner of the sixth race, a 1,400m contest for local-bred horses. Finishing behind the winner were Khazzama, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Ramani of Al Afoo Racing, in the second and third positions.
Meanwhile, Al Mohamediya Racing’s Gumais won the fifth race to bag the Bahrain National Gas Company Cup. Al Adiyat Racing’s American Flag was second while Firth of Clyde, owned by Al Hoora Racing, finished third.
The fourth race of the day, for the Bahrain National Gas Company Cup, was claimed by Midhaal, of Al Nuwayef Racing after finishing ahead of Erada of MKAR Racing and Aslaan, of Al Mallah Syndicate.
Waqiaah, owned by Al Afoo Racing, won the third race, for the Al Bilad Newspaper Cup. Qamari, also of Al Afoo Racing, and MJ Racing’s Shu Taibah bagged the second and third positions.
The winner of the second race, for the Al Bilad Newspaper Cup, was Dayem, owned by Jassim Mohammed Asad. Toulouse Le Plot of Victorious was third while Ramadhan Stable’s Alemaratalyoum finished third.
Obeyan 1867, owned by Al Wasmiya, won the opening race of the day, finishing ahead of Victorious’ Mlolshan 1865 and Kuheilan Umm Zorayr 1838.
The races were witnessed by REHC chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Environment vice-president and REHC deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa..
