AN ‘OPEN house’ has staged at the Indian Embassy in Manama over the weekend to allow its expatriates in Bahrain to raise matters of concern and receive expert guidance.
The event was chaired by new Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob and attended by the embassy’s consular team and a panel of lawyers.
Mr Jacob said that several issues had been addressed in recent weeks, including those involving a small number of housemaids who were granted emergency certification and tickets to return home to India.
He thanked the Bahrain authorities, as well as expatriate associations such as the Indian Community Relief Fund, for their ‘unwavering support’.
