The Coastguard has said it is continuing its marine and land inspection campaigns in co-operation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.
It is part of its efforts to address maritime violations in the territorial waters of Bahrain and to ensure that sailors and fishermen adhere to the decisions regulating fishing, the Coastguard Command said yesterday.
The campaigns included ensuring that maritime regulations and laws were not violated, checking the validity of licences for small vessels, and verifying the soundness of procedures for workers on these vessels, in addition to the availability of maritime safety tools and their suitability, it said.
The campaigns resulted in the arrest of a number of violators.
