Scores of people turned up to watch the Kingdom Pro Wrestling (KPW) show at the Galleria Mall in Zinj last night.
More than 1,000 enthusiastic wrestling fans flocked to watch the sold-out ‘Galleria Battlezone’.
It was the first-ever KPW ticketed event, with the proceeds going to help the promotion pay for costumes, venue and help KPW grow.
This show was a prelude to the next one, which will be held at Bahrain Comic Con, which is touted as the promotion’s biggest show yet, with All Elite Wrestling’s Paul Wight set to be in attendance.
Also part of an exhibition match at the convention will be former WWE tag team duo Mansoor and Mace, formerly known as the Maximum Male Models.
Mansoor, born in Riyadh, is the first-ever Saudi professional wrestler to appear on WWE TV.
KPW founder Mohamed Talaq said last-minute arrangements had to be made to accommodate more fans at last night’s show.
“We had a target number, but KPW fan response was so overwhelming, that we needed to move seating around to provide more space,” he said.
“The fan base is growing and so are we.”
KPW champion Shareef, Madrex, Jabbar, The Great Zubari, MKM, Khalid Kombat and Yaqoob were amongst several wrestlers who laced their boots for the action-filled show.
