His Majesty King Hamad received a telephone call from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency of Egypt stated that President Al Sisi emphasised Egypt’s position rejecting the Iranian attacks against Bahrain. He affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the kingdom and all Gulf states in facing current challenges, and its readiness to provide all forms of necessary support to maintain the security and stability of the region.
President Al Sisi also highlighted that Egypt continues its intensive contacts and movements at the international and regional levels to stop the war as soon as possible. He commended Bahrain’s role in supporting peace and safeguarding regional stability.
The official spokesperson added that His Majesty expressed his deep appreciation to President Al Sisi for his steadfast position in supporting Bahrain and the Gulf states. He affirmed the kingdom’s keenness on continuous co-ordination with Egypt and Arab countries to avoid further escalation and work towards ending the war quickly.
President Al Sisi emphasised that Gulf security is directly tied to Egyptian national security, and that Egypt views that Arab countries share a common destiny. He also called for strengthening co-operation and joint action to address current challenges, and advance collective Arab national security so as to ensure the protection of Arab states from any external aggressions.
