Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro congratulated Bahrain Chamber board of directors election winners.
He wished them success and guidance in performing their duties during the new term, and in continuing to work towards achieving the aspirations of the commercial community and contributing to the development of the business environment in a manner that supports sustainable economic growth.
The minister highlighted the importance of the vital role played by the chamber in supporting economic development paths and enhancing the competitiveness of the business sector in the kingdom.
The elections for the 31st term of the chamber board of directors took place at the Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) in Sakhir, with notable participation from representatives of the commercial sector, in a scene that reflects the vitality and dynamism of the private sector and its keenness for active participation in economic decision-making.
Mr Fakhro noted that the support of the government for the chamber comes as an embodiment of the visions of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the chamber’s position as a strategic partner in driving the national economy.
He commended the advanced level shown by the electoral process in terms of organisation and turnout, while at the same time valuing the efforts of all candidates, including those who were not successful, asserting that their participation represents an essential pillar in supporting institutional work and enhancing integration with various relevant parties.
The minister also expressed his appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the previous board of directors and the qualitative contributions it provided in serving the chamber and the economic sector, stressing the importance of building on those achievements during the next phase.
He commended the good organisation of the electoral process and the efforts made by the committee, headed by Abbas Radhi, chairman of the election committee, and all parties and various work teams, reflecting the readiness of all operational and organisational aspects in making the electoral process a success.
He reaffirmed the continued co-operation and co-ordination between the Industry and Commerce Ministry, the chamber, and all partners, in a way that contributes to achieving comprehensive development goals and enhancing the leading economic position of the kingdom at both regional and international levels.
