Vision correction surgeries, to be offered at preferential rates, will be provided to beneficiaries of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) who require specialised medical services in ophthalmology and eye surgery.
This will be in addition to a range of free medical services, following a co-operation agreement signed with Al-Mousawi Specialised Eye Centre.
The agreement was signed by RHF acting secretary-general Ibrahim Al Dosari and the centre’s chief executive Dr Jalal Al Mousawi.
In a statement, the centre said that the agreement reflects its commitment to social responsibility and its keenness to support humanitarian and healthcare initiatives, as well as contributing to enhancing the quality of medical services provided to beneficiaries in Bahrain.
The GDN reported earlier this week that the 2025 RHF annual report stated that the number of sponsored orphans and widows reached 10,857 beneficiaries last year, bringing the total number of beneficiaries since the foundation’s establishment to 31,794.
In family counselling, RHF delivered specialised programmes benefiting 490 individuals. A total of 4,480 beneficiaries received humanitarian assistance, including living, medical, marriage, debt relief, and educational support.
In the healthcare field, RHF provided 86 insulin pumps for children and carried out 16 cochlear implant surgeries, in addition to offering integrated medical services benefiting hundreds of individuals.
