BAHRAIN has welcomed the announcement by US President Donald Trump on reaching a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran.
The Foreign Ministry said the announcement also includes understandings to ensure the full, immediate and secure reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, helping to create a positive climate that supports diplomatic efforts and de-escalation in the Middle East.
The ministry commended the constructive mediation efforts of Pakistan, which contributed to securing the agreement.
The ministry stressed the importance of this step leading to the immediate and comprehensive halt of all hostile and unjustified Iranian attacks against the GCC states and Jordan, in implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817.
