The kingdom’s oldest migrant workers’ rights organisation is continuing its mission to provide aid to expatriate domestic workers amidst the ongoing uncertainties.
The Migrant Workers Protection Society recently provided dry ration kits to 25 domestic workers living in Umm Al Hassam, American Mission Hospital compound and the National Evangelical Church compound.
Each kit contained rice, cooking oil, tea powder, sugar, salt, vermicelli, dal, toothpaste, soap, juice powder, chicken stock, milk powder and all-purpose flour.
“Building on the Bahraini government’s efforts to strengthen protections for domestic workers, MWPS continues to support through donations,” the organisation said in a statement posted on social media.
Last month, coinciding with International Women’s Day, MWPS volunteers distributed boxes to 40 female domestic workers in Tubli. Left, volunteers distribute aid to domestic workers.
