GOLF – KHALIFA Al Meraisi clinched first place in the gross standings of the Crown Prince’s Golf Championship, organised by Bahrain Golf Club (BGC).
Al Meraisi finished ahead of runner-up Ali Saleh Ali while Mohammed Khalid Al Hazza finished third.
They were awarded their prizes during the BGC’s official closing ceremony of its 2025-26 sports season, attended by Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Chief of Staff and BGC chairman Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi.
Lt-Gen Al Nuaimi handed out prizes to Al Meraisi, Ali and Al Hazza.
He expressed appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for supporting the tournament, noting that it reflects the continued interest in advancing the sports and youth sectors in Bahrain.
Lt-Gen Al Nuaimi commended Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the continued support provided to the club’s activities, which has contributed to developing golf and advancing sports competitions in the kingdom.
He said that the just-concluded season featured a variety of championships and events with a wide participation from players and BGC members.
