The Sultanate of Oman today celebrated the first day of Eid Al Adha 1447 AH, as the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik offered the Eid prayer at Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Sohar, the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
Members of the Royal Family, senior officials, military commanders and citizens also attended the prayers.
The congregation was led by Dr Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, who delivered the Eid sermon.
The sermon focused on faith, pilgrimage, and nationhood. It emphasised that the core objectives of the Islamic faith lie in developing a conscientious individual and integrating belief with righteous deeds to foster a virtuous life.
Following the prayer, the Sultan received well-wishers greeting him on this blessed occasion. He exchanged Eid greetings with them and expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for their genuine sentiments and kind prayers.
